You forgot one GOOD thing about Hufflepuffs: they're particularly good FINDers! Probably to help them FIND good clients at the Muggle insurance companies.

I am. I started putting a few things up a while back, but I kind of stopped once band started. I still have a few things to scan, and see if I can find my tablet (which has conveniently run away in the past few weeks because of cleaning things up). lol

I'd like to remember you their ghost is strangely similar to a François Leclerc du Tremblay [link] fellow, also known as the original Grey Eminence... Don't underestimate Hufflepuff.

But shows you what they actually are: the ones manouvering everyone from behind, getting all the benefits and none of the dangers of power.

Purposefully targeted because Voldemort knows the danger of grey eminences and attacked with overwhelming force.

ok then other than "being so boring, they pass under the radar" what other advantages do they have above other houses

A little list:
1)as they are 'so boring they pass under the radar', nobody notice when they do something until it happens. And if an Hufflepuff decided to murder someone else and started going around with a two-handed sword, the vast majority of people would automatically assume he's just moving it to polish the weapon until the victim is brutally murdered in front of anyone;
2)as they're apparently useless and too good, nobody would believe they did anything big until it happened before everyone. For example, if Draco Malfoy reported that an Hufflepuff student did something bad, Malfoy would be punished for doing that thing, trying and frame another stupid and lying in such an idiotic manner, even if he was telling the truth;
3)as Hufflepuffs are hard-working, outside Hogwarts they tend to occupy tiring, unglamorous and apparently unimportant positions like the production of magical herbs. Incidentally, if they stopped doing so potion brewers would find themselves without ingredients, so healers would have no magical medicines (epidemics, ahoy!), Aurors would find themselves without veritaserum (a lot of failed interrogations. And their record is already poor) and antidotes to bezoar-resistant poisons (no need to explain what this would cause), murderers would finish their poison really fast and have to resort to more identificable means, and cauldron makers would find themselves without trade, so causing a decrease in the metal need and inflation, and an economic crisis. Whoops...;
4)given their famous loyalty, if you pick on one of them the entire House will find you and make you pay.

Ok so most of those points refer back to the main point of going unnoticed and they are loyal

Being unnoticed is not always a minus. And makes things that are noticed even greater.

I'd like to "remember" you that the only promising student to ever come out of Hufflepuff died unceremoniously and then reincarnated as a fruity sparkly vampire in Washington. Hufflepuff'l do that to ya. TROLOLOLOLOL

XD It's kind of true. The Hat DID say Hufflepuff took everyone who didn't fall into the other houses.
