I stopped going to church awhile ago because I thought they wouldn't want me there (I'm bisexual) but my mom made me come to the dinners they had. When my old priest (who I've known since I was very young) asked why stopped coming to service, I told him the truth. I waited for him to say something bigoted but all he said was "I'm sorry you felt the need to hide your true self. Please don't let other people's opinion of you get in the way of what you want to do."
TL;DR
It feels nice to be accepted by someone you've known your whole life.

A hilarious series. This particular strip caught my attention because of the religious debate going on in the comments. Seeing the continual condemnation of religion as a whole, I feel as though I must speak up. Religion does not equal Christianity. Likewise, a single Christian does not equal the Church. Furthermore, a single Christian does not equal the values of Christianity. We are human; we aren't perfect. Therefore the interpretations of what one learns from Christianity may be misconstrued, misled, misinformed. This even applies to other religions. We need to progressively move away from the hate that we are so eager to project onto other groups of people and learn to love individuals first. Hopefully something as simple as this comic strip will be able to challenge us to become a more accepting population in the years to come.

Enjoyed this greatly. Some of the comments around here are a little saddening though. Hate goes both ways. We can't have a better society until there is acceptance of all walks of life. No matter faith, gender, sexuality.
