Cameo wasn't scared--only surprised, for a moment, when the situation turned upside down without warning. She wasn't entirely sure why, considering the immediate threat of being roasted. Maybe it was the fact that there were just so many other Wyngrew around, maybe it was her own secret sneaky belief that she was just too incredible to be threatened by something as mundane as a fire, even if it was a BIG fire. Then there were flames and smoke everywhere, someone was shouting instructions, and everyone was scrambling this way and that to surround the fire before it got even more out of control.

How to go about this? Her usual method of body slamming her way to victory was obviously not going to work here. Her body was not her power right now--her magic had to be her power. 'Powerful in a forceful way. Yes,' she thought. She stood her ground before the inferno and pushed it with her mind...and it shrunk back, like a scared animal. It actually worked. The fire was receding back into its designated area, leaving a scorched black patch of ash. She commanded it, and it went.

'Yes yes YES!' Cameo gestured with her claws and whipped her tail around and danced in place and gleefully watched the bonfire warp and change and shrink to a managable size with the whole class working on it. Most yelling, a few panicking, but all at least working together. This she noted with the part of her mind that wasn't ecstatic with the raw power of shaping the giant flame. This was the good stuff. It made her feel like she was a fire herself.

It was a while before the bonfire died down for good, and not everyone walked out of the experience unscathed, but Cameo found it hard to care a whole lot...she was so hyped up on adrenaline and pride at the accomplishment that she had to run laps around the town before she could fall asleep. Why couldn't all magic feel like that?
