pretty much just a coincidence, since I call it Royal Equestrian Mint.

That would be the Minting Body, though; Not the Central Monetary authority (US Mint vs Federal Reserve Bank)....but I'm nitpicky here, these are awesome :3

which race of ponies controls money?

I'd assume It'd be mostly the unicorns. Somehow I always picture them as the intellectuals, and Canterlot would be where the ECB would be located and it's mostly unicorn, but I can imagine there'd be the odd Earth Pony and Pegasus in the Finance Sector as well

I just buy the 5 bit and you've already got a model for the 10 bit up...why can't you give me a moment of not being Pinkie Pie level excited?

Oh, cool, was this part of the Equestria Daily contest from a while back? I was wondering when we'd see the winner(s) of that. This is very cool, I love how much thought went into the design.

suction power, probably. Or maybe unicorns are the only ones capable of actually handling money.

Oooo looks amazing!
Will there be anyway we can buy like a mix of them when you mass produce the 5 and 10 bit coins? I'd love to buy like... maybe 5 one bit, 3 5 bits, and maybe 2 10 bits in one go whenever they are all available!

yeah I'm actually planning a full set of all 5 once I have them all completed. With the shopping car system on our site, you can just mix and match each otherwise.
I'll talk to my sales guy about doing a promotion.

Okay, cool. I'd like to wait to get them all at once because of the international shipping prices and because I'm not going to have much spare cash for about a month. So, we won't have to worry about waiting for the final design to eventually be made but then the 1/5 bit would be completely sold out?

Protip: when you're ready to take orders, send it to EQD (and put up a journal so that the rest of it can submit as well). I doubt you'll be able to keep 'em in stock if they're sold at a reasonable price.

The two metal design reminds me a lot of the Euro. I like it.

the inspiration was actually the two pound coin and the ten franc coin (which I miss dearly), but euros adopted the color scheme too and I always thought it looked awesome. It's a shame that US coins don't do it.

Out of all the things we could have done with our coins, we decided state quarters were the best we could do. :/
And I've never actually had one of those two coins manage to find their way over here. A few of my relatives have been lucky enough to take trips to Europe in the past few years, and the only higher-denomination coins that didn't get spent were German Euros.

I agree, I've always liked the dual metal coin design, they even use it in Canada, the US doesn't even use gold coloring.
