Manicure

As we all know, humans change through time. Not for better or for worse, they are being shaped by the environment around them. This is where the manicure is being made the concept. The main thing in this landscape is to remind the users what they are today is not what they are when they were born.

Humans and plants grow when time passes, but the process is not as easy as what it seems to be. We are being ‘manicured’ by the things surrounding us, our family members, what we learn in school and our friends will affect how our growth will be like. This procedure resembles the pruning of Bonsais, how they are being manicured, shaped, and pruned. Therefore one of the features in the design is a Bonsai exhibiting area. As all of us know 10th storey serves for the donor’s collection, and so the Bonsais will be donated from outsiders who are willing to exhibit their beautiful manicured Bonsais. The exhibiting area will be in a semi sphere shape, so when a user enters the space, he/she will be surrounded by all the Bonsais.

Other than exhibiting the manicured Bonsais, the user can sit around the semi sphere to enjoy a cozy space surrounded by the black bamboos.

Users can enjoy small gathering spaces provided on the top of the sky garden whereby the capsules are ‘floating’ on bamboos. There will be an entrance from the 11th storey and leading the users to the different capsules. Different levels are used for different capsules to allow different level of sight and one of them will be connected to the ground level of the sky garden. The reason for capsules is because it will look like its manicuring the volume of the garden and it can provide more gathering spaces. They can enjoy sitting and relaxing in a capsule, with creepers above, and chatting with friends while enjoying the view.
