Is this an alternate future? Because Quarian's don't need their suits anymore technically because they cured their immune systems in the True Mass Effect 3 endings. They still wear suits just because now... not because they need them.

The Quarians are able to exist on their home planet free without helmets yes, but off planet they still can't coexist with every species yet. Species like Yahg and Krogan are covered in alien bacteria that make Quarians susceptible to infection and disease. They're not quite there yet.
