Man, I haven't done anything non-comicy in a while. I just reread 'Far From the Madding Crowd' by Thomas Hardy for the GAZZILIONITH time and finally thought 'Hey, maybe I should draw these guys since I love (and love to hate) them so much!'.So, here's the beauty Bathsheba Everdene and her suitors for top to bottom- Farmer Bollwood, Sgt. Troy, and Gabriel Oak. Poor Gable, he's my favorite Hardy man ever and I wasn't sure how to draw him at ALL. Maybe I'll draw another picture with just him and Bathsheba, to show him off better.
Anyway, I've already inked this and I'll color it in soon enough!

i want to see the inked version. this was such a good book, i like it and the return of the native the most, i think. but this had a happier ending.

Yeah, I love Return of the Native too, but it's so marvelous for Hardy to have a happy ending, Madding Crowd always makes for a good reread. It's a sort of begrudging happy ending though, with no big weddings and resolvement. Mayor of Casterbridge is similar in that it's happy, but not really. It's too darn realistic!!
