So basically the story is this: the Slenderman is an apparition that appears in the woods. It looks like a impossibly tall man with impossibly long limbs including arms that almost tough the ground. It is often mistaken for a tree at first. Victims that see it's 'face' said that it's visage was so horrible that their brains refused to register what was in front of them so they only see a blur, but they know somewhere deep in their minds that what they are seeing is wrong and to terrible to comprehend. Once you see the Slenderman it follows you everywhere driving you mad and it eventually takes you away to no one knows where. It is fond of kidnapping children most of all.
the reason I said I expected Slenderman to pop out is just because the setting of this picture reminds me of the indie horror game Slender that's based off the myth, wherein Slenderman stalks you through a foggy dark mountain woods while you try to collect 8 scraps of paper to win the game.
