Description What a rather boring name for a big old tree. This tree has lost the title of great given how young he still is. The deku tree sprout has flourished in LoH but hasn't quite got to the point of power where he needs to be. He is designed mostly after the deku tree sprout from OoT and still has quite a bit of growing to do (in both magic and stature!)

-----------

Name: Deku Tree
Age: 400+
Gender: Male
Race: Deku Tree
Occupation: Guardian of the Forest
Birthplace: Kokiri Forest
Residence: Kokiri Forest
Personality: fatherly, quick to joke, extremely patient, enjoys simple things, helpful
Goal: To fulfill his duties and protect his children
Other: Still being young, he has spurts of childish natures even though he has grown and has past knowledge. Likes to entertain others. Extremely protectful of kokiri and koroks.

Abilities:
- Able to give leaves as to those who need them
- Tremendous amount of knowledge
- Able to use magic to great extents

Weaknesses:
- Fire
- Extreme temperatures
- Magic is weaker than predecessor

History:
After the Great Deku Tree was killed by Ganondorf's magic, the seed that the deku tree sprout was in started to bloom. With evil controlling the land, his power was only strong enough to help the kokiri in the village. He was unable to break through the dirt until the Hero of Time awakened Saria as the Forest Sage. Once able to break through, he gave the hero some information and started on his way to help the kokiri. The kokiri were questionable with him at first but were glad that they had a new guardian. Immediately he started helping them.

Within his first few years of being above ground, he had to deal with the introduction of the koroks. The loss of the kokiri that turned saddened him greatly but understood that he needed their help. His power only going to a fraction of the forest meant that he couldn't achieve as much as he used to. The loss of Saria as the forest sage didn't help his needs either but the gain of Verbena eased the problem with the koroks.

Over the years he has attempted to restablish his connection with the entire forest and continue his efforts in restoring Hyrule through the help of the koroks. He spends a good majority of his time just trying to improve his connection with the kokiri and koroks through storytelling alongside bettering his magic. Once his reach is farther, he plans on better dealing with the issues that he has felt arrise in recent times. He also worries about his duty that he has been out of grasp for so long.

In recent years he has become extremely worried about the state of the world in general. He feels as though the kokiri and koroks might see danger once again. With such limited power, he worries that this time his people will get destroyed. The loss of some kokiri in recent times has also bothered him greatly.

Extra:
- Though he is immobile, he gets plenty of news from the koroks and fairies that leave the forest
- He is extremely wary of gerudo given Ganondorf's trickery in the past. The last gerudo he could trust -though he never met her - was Nabooru.
- His mouth does move to talk and he often likes to keep a branch in it. He thinks it makes him look more authortive
- He feels as though he lives in the Great Deku Tree's shadows so he tries his best to differentiate himself as best he can by still being seen as a forest deity.
- The dead Great Deku Tree has been removed from behind this deku tree. His bark was used by kokiri for items and the rest of him was magically removed in order for him to grow. Though this one is no where near the same size, he is still a growing boy.

If you look at the sprite for the Deku Tree Sprout in OoT, you can see that he has a leaf sticking out of his mouth on a twig. I kept the same concept given I based the design 90% on that deku tree. The eyebrows are a throwback to the Great Deku Tree so I have to wholeheartedly disagree with the jackass comment :/ His face overall moves much like the Maku Trees and WW Deku Tree. I'd like to believe that much like the Great Deku Tree in OoT, the eyebrows will grow out and probably make him look like an old man.

I see Fera already said what needed to about Kalla. There has never been an exile kokiri. No matter how much trouble they cause, he will teach them and correct their actions rather than kick them out. Every korok that exists has left the zone of protection of the Deku Tree on their own accord and have lost their fairy thus starting their turning. That's why they have the fairies too. He understands that they sometimes cannot stay within his reach so the fairies guide them back. If no fairy, no way of getting back. Kalla often left the reach and -in all respects- he isn't surprised that she never came back but is extremely saddened that she did just like he is with every kokiri.

Yeah, thanks for the info, I must have confused it with that alternate story with the forest god and stuff or I don't even know anymore, the point is I derped out XD
And he just looks mischievous to me, it's not your fault, haha. I think it's the eyebrows, the sprout looked much more innocent without them. I'm not criticizing her, just sharing how I see him. Good job on him ^^

...The Deku Tree doesn't exile kokiri, Lo. Read the lore and the Deku Tree's bio. He cares about them and protects them all he can. not to mention he's pretty far from a jackass. :I Kalla ended up inflicting her own condition upon herself. It says how on her app.

It's kinda disturbing… To think Deku Tree has to know that DEAD Great Deku Tree sits right behind him everyday XD

He looks so adorable! He seems like he'd be a fun guy to talk to and visit with XD

well, the great deku tree is right behind him but it's not like he can turn around to see XD maybe nobody even told him yet, haha

It's not actually there in LoH. The Great Deku Tree has been removed. His bark was used by kokiri for items and the rest of him was magically removed by the Deku Tree in order for him to grow. Though this one is no where near the same size, he is still a growing boy.

are the caverns below him there, or were those removed/collapsed/covered too? would make for a cool dungeon

I'm assuming they collapsed given we have no plans as of right now to use the old dungeon XD

Did I forge to take that part out? oh boi... we were going to pretend it magically disappeared XD

He is pretty fun. Rather childish but mostly a serious guy XD Still terrifies me that I have to use him to decide fates of my own oc's :C
