The first Comcept painting for this year i think. Yes, the series is not dead. It's also the first bigger painting since my CGChoice Award win. Beside other projects i'm currently wrapping up it is, from time to time, fun to work on more loose paintings. Just smashing together some textures and see what comes out of it. Waiting for the lucky accident that makes you go 'click'... and start to refine things a bit. That's what i did here. No specific target in mind. Just had a nice Vue forest render and played around with it. Additionally i was playing around with how to effectively add a lens flare to suggest a more photo like look. Nice work, though I don't quite think adding the lensflare adds to the photographic look. Photographers tend to avoid lensflares if possible. At least your lensflare is a pretty subtle one.

totally agree about avoiding them... but man, you seen transformers, indy 4...? just to name two. lensflares all over the place.

I managed to restrain myself from seeing Indy IV. I'm a huge Indiana Jones fan, but I just couldn't bear to watch them kill the whole franchise that way.
Transformers I and II, I watched for the giant robots, and those two movies pretty much had the worst camera direction I've seen recently. Constant pans and shaking, important objects obscured, etc.
I do like how your lensflare is a lot more subtle than the over-the-top Photoshop lensflares some people use, however. It really isn't very noticeable unless you look for it.
On a side-note, I recently did some experimentation with actual lensflares on a sunrise photo-shoot I did. They looked pretty sweet on the viewfinder, but I was really glad I took some similar shots without lensflare in them, because I ended up preferring the non-lensflare version!

jeah schaut richtig wie ein Foto aus, die Composition ist zwar jetzt nicht wirklich ausagegebend, aber dafür ist das Feeling und die Athmo genial.
