SPOILER actually i played through mine and well my Shepard lived. I apparently had a high enough military strength and watched my Shepard wake up in some rubble. I still destroyed them. But yea, the ending did leave some stuff unanswered and it was awesome. Leaves you hanging and begging for more.

I envy people who seriously think these endings are 'good', 6 years of my life went down the toilet when those last ten minutes happened.

I agree, not the ending I would have chosen, but it was a really emotional and great one nonetheless.
Yeh a lot was left unexplained, but perhaps they left that open, knowing that they couldn't possibly please everyone?
Like you say, we can create our own endings for our respective Shephards if we really want to
I went Synthesis on my Ashley-mance playthrough, gonna start my Liara-mance playthrough next No idea what ending to choose though.

I think half of my heart died when my Shep. went MIA. I mean, after that moment with Garrus I pretty much wanted to punch Bioware in the face after a mind-tantrum (I tend to get hysterically attached to my rpg characters and their romance). I'm eagerly waiting for a DLC to fix my sorrows, but until then I will go with the special ending and guess that she survived the rubble SOMEHOW, and adopted turian babies with Garrus. YOU CAN'T CHANGE MY MIND, I WON'T HAVE IT!

i really like the ending but at first i was disappointed with the ending cause of leaving my romance with Garrus but after thinking about it for a week i though it was a good way to go and i also figure that Garrus would do something super heroic and get his ass killed so i would see him soon enough ^_^ <3
i read that the Mass Effect trilogy isn't over yet but Commander Shepard story is, and a new hero will come. What are your thoughts?

The story played out how we wanted it to, our choices, our endings...

I really like this drawing of your FemShep. It has been a long time since I saw her as a drawing.

I liked the endings, and it made sense for Shepard to be alone at the end. The whole trilogy is basically Shepard's story, everyone else is secondary. Even Shepard's LI and Anderson are secondary in the game. What I do wish is some sort of epilogue, even if it was read by the Stargazer or the child at the end. As for the mass relays, well, removing them is like removing the airports from the US. Yes, it's going to take ages to go from cluster to cluster, but you will still get there. After all, in my analogy you can still go to another state by car or by train, but it would take at least a few days rather than a few hours.

I chose synthesis - it seemed to me that if I was going to die anyway, I might as well pick the option that would result in permanent piece - at least, if the Catalyst is to be believed.

I haven't reached the ending yet, though I have to an extent spoiled it for myself just because it was hard to ignore all the ravings against the ending that were being posted everywhere. I'd be done by now, but the hubby keeps taking over the 360 ;^^ It's sweet watching his Shep and Tali, though <3

If I understand the ending options well enough, I think I'm going to go for the synthesis ending. I just can't destroy the Geth and EDI. Not after how many tears I cried during the Geth part.... gah I <3 Legion ;.;

I think the concept of sacrificing my Shepard wouldn't bother me so much except for having to leave her love interest behind like that. This is why I should have romanced Thane instead of Garrus.... then my Shepard could go into it with a bit more closure :/ Instead, I'm just gonna feel guilty for Garrus somehow.... I hope his family at least survived the ordeal. I'm uncertain about that spoiler yet (if they even tell you by the end)

I saw a quote someone posted from a Bioware twitter the other day where they said in regards to the ME ending, that all they could say is that they had a lot of DLC planned and that people would want to hold onto their copy of ME3 for quite a number of years to come. I hope that's the case.... that they expand on the endings and at least leave us with a little more solid feeling to them. Either way, I didn't expect the happiest ending.... but closure is at least nice. Even Dragon Age 1 had it with big blocks of text that told you what happened :/

This is a good pic. The ending was amazing, in my opinion. And it is possible, to travel with out a Mass Relay, you do it when you travel in a cluster. It does suck you leave your love interest alone, but you could always use the 'armor breathing in London' canon ending, if you wanted something happy. But for people who have Shepard's with siblings, the siblings can survive with their love interests.
ME3 made me cry and smile, especially when Mordin died and when you get to hang out with Garrus on the Citadel. Mass Effect was the best series ever. I like to think that in the end, Earth was rebuilt and everyone who lived had a lovely life. I like to think the old man with his grand kid at the end is Joker or someone of the crew, because, who else would know so much?

Destroy is the best option and Shep lives in it. Synthesis makes you play god and rewrite everyone's DNA and Shep dies. Control makes Shep die but leave Relays intact.

Destroy is best option!

Chose Synthesis. Seemed the best way to save as many people(organic or not) as possible. And I wasn't about to give my Shepard a army of near immortal machines nor destroy the Geth or EDI.

I agree with you on your feeling toward the ending, I have said many times lately that i would applaud Bioware for trying something different to make there game memorable. Also a nice piece, I think if anything I might add a little more line work around Shepards edges and maybe make the detail on the outfit a little more distinct but otherwise, I like it.

I pick Synthesis because I thought it was the best ending for my FemShep everyone lives with a new race of human/robo babies that EDI and Joker would have (MAN that would be so cool), thou thinking about how he/she could have AT LEST died in their romances arms saying sweet 'live for me and love again' would have been heart breaking and beautiful. Just thinking about it makes me want to cry.

JillShep!! I can sympathize. I had no problem playing my self insert Maleshep because he's how I'd be in shepard's shoe, but when I played his "sister" my canon femshep Kallen, I was so nervous for her during the combat on eartha nd even as she made her decision.

There's talk that bioware is gonna release a DLC for an extended ending because they had to change the original ending at the last second due to a leak. But people are saying that this ending has more meaning to it than what we think
