Today we talk about a 100 years aniversiry...again.The First Battle of the Masurian Lakes (7-14 September 1914)Β was a battle between german and russian armies in East Prussia (present day's Poland) besides the Masurian Lakes. After a few defeats against the russian army, Germany finally managed to fight back the russians and 45.000 russian prisoners of war were takened by the germans. Those of the russian or german armies who died were either killed by the enemy or drowned in the lakes and the swamps.
