Let's just say I find a cultural meeting and exchange between the Sami and the Northmen during the Vendel- and Viking Ages (550-793, 793-1000) quite likely. The two cultures lived after all in Scandinavia.So, here you apparently see a Sami woman saving a Northman from freezing to death or something similar. No particular known event, just something I came up with.
I honestly don't know what sparked me to make this pic.

Honestly though, my personal theory is that if the Sami and Northmen had any contact at all (which would have been likely to some extent at least) it'd most likely be either in form of trade or outright war. Well it could be both. Trades can turn for the worse and war could break out. Or at least a battle, but a single battle can turn to a war: as learned from the American Civil War. But trade for sure was a way of contact.
