Tigerfog I found your story a couple of years ago and I'm hooked! I put a couple of my friends on and they became instant fans. It's been heartbreaking following this story; not knowing if this will end up being a tragic story or one of redemption. If it's the former...then we(the readers) my see the death of another character as the story progresses. If the latter, I think part of it lays on Donatello. This scene in a way shows it; I'm guessing (heavily) that April did a research after hearing what transpired in during the prologue and suspects Donatello is "off" somehow; possibly affected by the curse. Moving forward, Leo will eventually have to tell his brother's he truth and Donatello's lab will in some way expose just the type of force they're up against. Β

One can really feel Donatello go through this delirium, trying to set-up a justification for why April would want him to do something so unfavourable (in his mind).Β
It is interesting to see the usually level-headed 2k3 Donatello become so unsettling to many readers.

I've thought that way too, from the beginning (although for a different reason it seems). As much as I love him and want him to return to normal, I can't shake the feeling that he's too far gone to be saved. That after all the horrible stuff he's done, and will surely do in the near future, death will be his only way of redemption (so to say).

Donatello instantly rising to the challenge for her, it's so....absolutely endearing! The love he feels for her compels him more strongly than even the curse it would seem. But, then again, maybe not. Is it possible that April believing in Donatello and his feelings for her have been the strings keeping him tethered to the little core of sanity that remains inside him!?? Or will it all blow up and be his undoing!? GAH!
You're so good at masterminding tension underneath what you give us on the page.
Can I also add, that Leonardo's expression, so pleased, so surprised and happy at hearing his brother communicating and assisting, just breaks my heart!?

I find his affection for April quite creepy yet donnie remains my favorite. I wonder what effect this will have on donnie. Will he have a breakdown after having to communicate with Leo? X) i agree with you, Tigerfog is an amazing storyteller!

Oh, it's a very precarious thing. If she says something - even something small - that he takes wrong, it could all crumble, just fall into chaos. I think he'll hold it together in front of her, but I could see him excusing himself to go 'meet his brother to help' (deal with Leo) and then we'd see something, lol.
If not, if he does well and April praises him, he'll be extremely happy - but I still think he'd want to go deal with Leo. I'm looking forward to a real confrontation between them.
