This is some sort of a "sequel" artwork to this piece of work:
Pokemon IF...

This sketch has been left forever in my list of things to ink and color...
Well, here it is at last.
I was thinking about being lazy about the background, but then again, it was an opportunity to work on improving my BG skills and to try to convey some kind of context to my Pokemon If sketch.
I looked up the "WE WANT YOU in the army" propaganda as an inspiration for the poster in the background, then gave it a darker twist.
At first I was thinking about making a Machamp the leader of the Pokémon Uprising faction, but there would be way there's already Mach and Chokey in the composition.
Instead, I decided to use Alakazam. His long moustache makes him look evil anyways. All hail Alakazam!

So in the end, the sketch was done on paper, then scanned to be inked and colored on my PC.
The background was an afterthought so it was entirely done on PC - I must say, I'm really getting the hang of it. From sketching to inking, I can actually draw competently on PC now.
My style tends to change on PC though - it seems more dynamic and simplistic than it does on paper.

The characters from left to right:
-Joy: girl from the well known nurse family.
-Pikau: a Pikachu bartender.
-Mew: a baby Mew.
-Josh: guy with a sense of justice and adventure.
-Mach: a bookworm Machop who fears losing his intelligence upon evolving
-Chokey: a pro-wrestler Machoke
-Richar: a stressed out engineer Charmader who researches the lost technology of pokéballs
-Wortello: a Wortortle who trains in ninjitsu.

Try as I might, I couldn't avoid the similarities with MNTGaiden's cast. Oh well. :\

Song of inspiration: "Koori no manazashi" (Japanese opening to Biohazard/Resident Evil on PS1).
