Helena had been taking care of her younger sister and brother, Derrick, since the summer she graduated high school at 17 (posing as a couple years older). Her parents were deemed unfit after setting them up in the “accident” that year and their family dangerous so they ran away.
Celeste wanted to do much more with her powers than sit around or use them for the private “community” their parents were part of. So Helena works hard to keep a watchful eye on her sister’s progress.
Celeste gained her moniker “Pyreline” due to the line of fire she tends to leave in her wake as she runs. Her part in the “accident” granted her considerable supernatural speed with her bestowed control over flames.
Helena gained her moniker due to the fact that her wings and fiery hair primarily appear when she is stressed, flustered, or otherwise upset. Or if you target her sister in her presence. But once she is enraged, it’s hard for her to stop until she wears out. Her fires burn hotter than anything natural and very often leave nothing of her weaker opponents but charred dust on the wind.
Their younger brother Derrick (17) can cast shields of fire along with his bestowed control. He was farthest from the “accident” and finds it draining to use his powers beyond making his sculptures. He became reclusive and won a scholarship to a private school where he uses he considerably weaker powers to weld sculptures.
