I used to enjoy DeviantArt but took breaks from it a couple of times.
I don't like the site layouts for Eclipse, and I hate to leave DeviantArt. Back then I enjoyed posting artworks I made until I just couldn't draw much.
Though I once tried out other social media sites for art like Instagram and Twitter, I didn't make much new art to post so I abandoned those.
It'll be nice to see another art-related site that is like DeviantArt again.

It makes me sad, to leave deviantart behind.
I'm printing out drawings/images/etc and making a tiny memory book so when I finally leave, I can have them.
I barely even post my art anymore on here because it hurts my eyes. The App is what i've been using as an alternative.
It's a shame.
This website is like a time capsule for me. I spent years on this site, even with or without an account.
2012/2013 is when I first started, but before then little me lurked around without an account, excited to see how open it was to those without an account like youtube was.
I used to stay up for hours looking at my favorite artists' art.
Looking at drawings and photographs of many, in awe of those with talent and happy that I had it all at my fingertips.
Deviantart was made for everybody of every talent. It doesn't matter if all you drew was stick figures.
Everyone had a role on here and there was never any pressure.
Stamps and everything galore made this site very unique to me.

Exactly. It sucks hiw everyone is being ignored and how those with disability are left struggling to cope with it's intense colors. Eyestrain can lead to seizures, headaches, make chronic migraines worse, the extra uneeded steps to do something simple is a nightmare for those with brainfog/memory issues.
It's not fun. This alll stinks.

To me I see fetishes on recommended and I'm like "wth" I'm a minor and it's really uncomfortable seeing stuff like that da is really lazy and they dont care about there community

Unfortunately a lot of minors are dragged into it as well.
When I was younger on here someone who was a 27 year old begged to have s*xual roleplay with my character when I was underage (13 years old).
I've also seen people pose as minors to try to get minors to draw them fetish art or to drag them into it. As well as other s*xual things.
I don't like it at all. It needs a tag. It's a s*xual thing so therefore it must be tagged.
People can draw these things sure, but with it must be responsibility and thought of others who use the site. It shouldn't be all over the front page. Even I have the mature thing on so I shouldn't be seeing these images.
I really miss the old deviantart.
There needs to be strict rules for stuff like this.

Pillowfort has free invite codes available; users get three a week and when you join you get three off the bat, and the official twitter has a thread for people looking for codes. You don't need 5 USD to grab a code, people struggle to give them away fast enough.

Slightly off topic (kinda) but I wish there was a better place to post writing on that isn't AO3...that's not a website I want to support in the slightest. The closet thing I can think of is Wattpad and I've used it before but it feels like a site for younger users, that's for sure.
As for everything else well I have Tumblr and I'm most comfortable with that. Twitter is great if you already have a decent following but i don't have no idea how to make one there so F. Anyway this whole thing is so stupid...why get rid of the switch option. Why force it on everyone when 90% of people hate it. This is a dumb business decision.

Not off topic at all! Literature is, without a doubt, art that deserves a place on the net as much as visual art does.
I just regret that I don't have as much experience to inform people with! I'll be scanning through what more knowledgeable people (than myself!) suggest.

anyway, i have seen before artist that emptied their gallery before quiting DeviantArt. for someone that faved one of their art, it always left behind a "no image" square where once the fave stood, since the source of the fave no longer existed. thats what i mean

if someone deactivate their account but does not delete their images, the images can still be searched and seen (you just can't comment on them)
it is only when an author deletes their image that said image turn into a "no image" square in your favorites.
its just that people leaving DA often, but not always, delete all their art beforehand. the "torch the place and run" tactic.
note : DeviantArt does reserve the right to delete art if they do not correspond to their terms of service, which mostly means deleting all NSFW images.
