Colour Chart

BEHOLD! THE MEGACHART! So wow, much big.
PLEASE NOTE: Modifier genes highlighted in red are not available for basic bacon designs!
They can only be acquired through purchasing RARE custom designs with Bacon Points, through auctions or by breeding an in-game fawn. This Megachart is to help Fawnling creators work out what colours are available to them when making designs, and what their genotype would be. It should answer such questions as "Can I create a free Sooty Apricot Pearl?" (A: Not without Bacon Points!) or "What's the genotype for a Strawberry Roan?" (A: ee/nRn).In order to use the Megachart, pick a base colour from the top row, and then pick as few or as many of the modifier genes from the left-hand column to stick on top! Or go the opposite way, pick a colour that you like, then take one o

Are you allowed to 'stack' markings? Like a 'restricted fawn' on a 'restricted smokey'?

thank you!!

Noop! Regular fawn is dominant over smoky fawn, so if they have the gene for regular fawn, no smoky will show

Can dappling occur in fawnlings?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Tigglesaurus In reply to Ungnome [2014-06-21 20:32:37 +0000 UTC]

Yep! If the colour occurs on a horse (except for white markings), then with a few exceptions, the rule of thumb is that it can occur on a fawnling. The fawnling gene "smoky fawn" also commonly causes dark dappling

Is there a difference in genotype between the Typical Expression and the Maximum expression?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Tigglesaurus In reply to Reldia [2014-03-12 16:10:58 +0000 UTC]

Nope! For "Classic fawn"-based patterns, if they're on the same row, they're the same genotype. The "smoky fawn"-based genotypes can vary expression depending on the base colour, but the pattern genetics part is the same It's the same sort of variety that you'd get between a light bay-blood bay-mahogany bay. Same geno, different expression

If you're ever not sure, just sling me an example or pummel me with questions and I'll try not to ramble!

Just stick /fwfw on the end of the base colour genetics

This will probably be a dumb questions, but is it possible for a fawn to be both classic and smoky? or is it just classic, or just smokey?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Tigglesaurus In reply to Bat-arang [2014-01-05 20:57:03 +0000 UTC]

Just classic OR smoky I forgot to expand on the genetics of it, but basically classic fawn overwrites smoky, But if you have a classic fawn with the fwfes combo, they will appear classic fawn but could pass smoky fawn onto their babies if the other parent also has smoky

Just wondering, but can the fawn spots be on the faces?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Tigglesaurus In reply to Melodies-Of-Love [2014-01-03 10:39:12 +0000 UTC]

Fawn spots go no higher than the throat, see the maximum expression for classic fawn for an idea of how far the spots can spread!
