The details alone are mesmerizing. I'm particularly drawn to the patterns and highlights on Luke's clothing--really appealing work there. Especially on his boots, I love love love the attention there. So well done! Very Luke oriented there, so great to see.Β And I gotta say that the addition of the little button cuffs on Luke's shirt are super adorable--great detail there! I really enjoy how Mike's part is more subdued and simple, very fitting for him. His expression is so sweet too--always good to see him in a better mood. 
All of the textures and details in the background are just as impressive--I'm particularly impressed by the wood. It looks fantastic! All the other details are wonderful too. The leaves and flowers and such. And it's really beautiful that a lot of the background is left more abstract; very appealing! I really enjoy the overall color scheme here as well, the cooler colors are absolutely lovely.

Yes, the expressions is just how you read it... I tried to make it so that it could be read differently, but in my own personal version I meant for Luke to look a little unwell, and Mike to look a bit worried (and loving too...)
I think that I didn't get the forest as tropical-looking as the one in your story, but anyway, if you like the way it looks here, then it's alright I guess

And Luke's hair is just... Well, I think the first point of attraction to your comic was Luke's hair So, the plan was to make it look gorgeous (lucky Mike, to have such a thing in his reach).
And also I was so impressed with guys looking like guys in a fantsy story with elves and BL! Especially Mike, of course
