edit: since people still don't seem to get it. THIS IS NOT BOYFRIEND ANGST. just said that. oh geezus. there are a lot of other people you can love besides the opposite sex. Valentine's Day is about love in general, not just your "Boy". this is more about loving someone deeply - ANYONE - and being torn between your hatred for the hurt they've caused you, and the hatred you have for yourself.

And you are absolutely right, Valentines day is about who you love in general, this made me think of my friends... one's wife just past away, and the day after, another friend...his father had a heart attack and rammed into a Semi truck...this describes so much remorse, but at the same time has a feel... Sorry if I'm going beyond comprehension in my rambling. You are an inspiration to a fellow highschool student. Congrats on being accepted! I'm still waiting for NC to accept me ;D Blessed be poppet!

This deserves A favorite, I'm someone that went around my school saying, ''Happy higher suicidal rate day!'' Because if you think about it..So many people are like boohoo I'm depressed and its Valentines Day..-Shoot.- They die and makes the world a better place and now I'm just speaking my Ideas. You always hit such an awesome balance between horror and beauty. (Silence is a perfect example of that!) I've long been indifferent towards Valentine's Day (which may or may not be due to my also not having a boyfriend and just not "getting it"), but I am more then a little irritated by it's trivialization of emotions and its this-is-what-love-looks-like-and-this-is -how-you-celebrate-it commercials. I guess that's life, though. I'll just continue to celebrate my own, silent little holidays.

Love being linked to extreme hatred. Don't buy it. Never will. Too cynical. 
But that's just me. I can't even begin to try to understand what you're going through, or have been through. As the Sandman tells us: "Now and forver, your pain is your own."
For what it's worth, though, this is quite powerful in its simple colours and lines. Great use of space, and in creating that slightly menacing, curvy S shape.

The situation is more that I love people and they move on. and I still love them, but I also kind of hate them because they left me... and I hate myself because I didn't do anything about it. missed a lot of opportunities just because I was too afraid. there are also people I've loved and still love who have caused me immense pain.

This picture is not at all related to the fact that I've never had a boyfriend, as I've mentioned. Whether boyfriends are worth it or not.... I don't know, and I don't think that question can ever be answered until I experience it myself.
Valentine's Day is about loving people in general, and there are a lot of people I've loved and lost. it tends to be a mixture of my love for them, and my hatred both for their abandoning me, and my inability to hold onto them.

Ok everyone, sing along, emphasis on the k's! I love that song. I remember an old teacher saying something along the lines of "The ones we remiss we most wanna kiss." I wouldn't go so far as to say we'd like to kiss those particular people, but they probably stay with us the longest, seeing as to how human memory tends to bind most to negative experiences.
I really do love this this piece. There is so much depth and emotion within it, even though it is mostly a bust. I love how you've managed to convey so much emotion, even without the actually eyes of the creature present. The lack of colors certainly adds to the feeling. This most definitely deserves a favorite.

VERY artfully done! It's fantastically drawn with a humungous sense of emotion to be felt in the portrayal of the cat. Little touches like the barbed wire, the bleeding heart, and the empty eyesockets add so much to the effect. The cat's head looks like a skull, but at the same time looks full and living. Very cool!

aw, but it's GOOD angst! i reeeeally like this, the cat looks kind of sad and angry at the same time.
the lack of eyes and the hunched over-ness add to the over all ashamed/sad quality of the picture.
i like it lots 
plus, the blood actualy looks like real blood (which i have trouble doing)
