The new show ok for the most part. What turned me away was Jack Dalton being a soldier. Having a man that solves problems with guns as MacGyver's perpetual side kick, undermines having MacGyver. In the original, Mac stopped a lot of his friends from shooting by finding an alternative use for their gun. It just didn't sit well with me.
