All the emotion and life in the eye is amazing
Wonderful blending, fur detail and the misty background

Thank you, I love to paint the foxes. The background is a mix of blues, spray a mist of water and sprinkle salt.

That sounds like an interesting technique
I have heard some people use that
Yet to try it myself

I actually went over it again with water on this one...You get an intriguing texture with the salt. It pulls color, though, so you have to make your color a bit stronger than you really want....and it only works when the paint is wet. It's a bit more obvious on the fox painting of mine titled Golden Eyes.

The golden eyes one is crazy ... it looks like puffy scattered clouds! Really makes me want to try and do some experimenting ..

it probably sounds dumb, but i think I have to watch someone doing it in video first LOL

Really, it's quite easy....just paint, water, sprinkle salt. My fifth graders did it today! You can experiment and if it's too much, soften with wome more water.
