Garrus began to adapt some quarian and human customs, due to being stranded on some uncharted world, along with the Normandy's escort fleet, that was consist a mixture of humans, quarians and geth.

What are they escorting? Shepard, who was critically injured from the last major battle. So if anyone is wondering, didn't care for spoilers from the comic or both; yeah, Shepard lives basically... for the time being.

The question why they decided to settle down in some backwater planet is another story that it will reveal itself later on in the main acts.
