A very sweet drawing, I always have had a soft spot for fluff-type images like this and I just love how expressive you made the characters. As far as the actual critique goes, I like how you manage to make the drawing pop with the subtle use of shadows and shading. I honestly cannot think of much else to say without seeming to go into the fan-rave (the good kind) mode. If you are at all concerned about the scoring I gave, I have a hard time giving 5-stars to anyone not because I'm some sort of art critic or snob, but because unless the art really stands out as being above and beyond in some fashion, I feel like if I gave 5-stars all the time it would be dishonest and lower the meaningfulness of said rating. Not saying your art is not worthy, but besides being cute, it honestly did not affect me in a big way.

Did I miss the canon lore for that or is that your universeβs explanation for where the bat ponies came from?
The MLP episode where they introduced bat ponies involved Twi using a spell to make the bats not eat apples using Fluttershyβs Stare, but it backfired and Fluttershy turned into a bat pony.
Or maybe your kind of bat pony is different from that lol

Actually you need to go back further. In Luna Eclipsed - look at the ponies that are pulling her carriage when she visits Ponyville during season two. Those aren't Nightmare Night costumes... those are bat ponies. Besides, check out the endless amounts of art being put out by the fandom on batponies/thestrals... a rather popular thing to draw, apparently. so, all we need to do is provide an adequate backstory for the batponies, or thestrals, as they were called in ye olden times...
