Okay, I'm sure there will be a lot of people who frown on this. Or who think it isnt as valuable as a horse that competes in the HARPG circuits. If you like how its going on the HARPG circuits right now, and youre even doing well, then thats awesome! I'm super happy for you and only wish you more success! Honestly, I do not mean that sarcastically. If that is what makes you happy and you love it, then please, keep doing it! Everyone has a right to do things the way that makes them happy, and I am in no way trying to take that away from anyone. This is just a way that I think and feel will work better for not only me, but others who might have horses they want to advance, but dont have the time to meet HARPG real-world deadlines. That and this removes the pressure we dont want on our art/stories. Its also at our own pace. That's all. c: Nothing more to it folks.
For those of you who answered that you were interested on my latest poll! I bring you my notes on the thing. xD
With that out of the way, I'll just start by saying that this is not set in stone. I'm still working out the kinks, its already been adjusted several times. Also, if you'd like to suggest any ideas, I'm totally open to them! Or, if you want to take this system and tweak it so that it works for you, please do! I dont own this concept, just tailored it how I think I like it.
STEP 1: Set upAs far as which track, race names, race grades, distance, surface, weather, and surface condition are all up to you.
-i also do placing margin (by how many lengths my horse was 1st, 2nd, etc) on my own, but i do my best to keep it realistic.
Field Size is RNG'd. I leave minimum at 4, max at 10 ( or 15 for G1)
Post Position is then RNG'd, this way you arent picking the rail position all the time. lol
I distribute the purse as such - 1st 60% / 2nd 20% / 3rd 10% / 4th 8% / 5th 2%
STEP 2: Determining "Odds"Okay, so with this being RNG theres only really one way to take into account for things like pedigree, potential, athletic ability, training, etc.. so this is my take on that. This is comparable to like, say, betting odds.. which is where i originally derived this idea lol So, the lower the grade the race the more likely odds are you horse will win, im thinking in comparison to the talent and athletic ability of maidens vs grade one stakes horses..
Here's the chart I have so far, that seems to be decent. Using this formula, Bovi (my test horse, kudos to those who know which precious bab he is c; ), did NOT win every time, but he did fair well enough. He also fell "out of the money" once.
MSW - 50%
Maiden - 45%
Listed - 40%
Glll - 35%
Gll - 30%
Gl Stakes - 20%
So these are the base "odds" your horse has to win the race. So next, i take into account previous experience. If you have a horse doing both this and harpg circuit, feel free to add in that experience too!
+3 odd for every 1st
+2 odd for every 2nd
+1 odd for every 3rd
+.5 odd for every other place
Ok, so, example... Bovi won his maiden. so, for his next race, say a listed allowance. instead of the base 40%, since he won the last race.. his odds for his next race would be 43%.
How I work this in, is like so.
Field of 8, in a listed allowance, he has a 43% chance. So, now for some math.
.43 * 8 = 3.44
ok. So in order to give him a 'true' 43% percent chance to win in RNG, his name would have to be in the list another 3.44 times. well, we cant put .44 of his name in there. so for that, I just round down to 3. If it were 3.5 or up, i would round up to 4.
STEP 3: Running the Raceso, in the RNG list generator i would put this:
ghost
ghost
ghost
ghost
ghost
ghost
ghost
Bovi
Bovi
Bovi
Bovi
and then run it. I mean, im not mathematician... so im sure there is some flaw in my math or in my thinking... buuuuttttt... this is what ive come up with.
Now, in my own personal use, it will be done one race at a time. I will be posting art and stories and training images and such like normal. Im just attempting to eliminate the biased-ness of the current popular judging systems.
Would LOVE positive feedback or ideas!

So, if at the end, the results for the Bovi example was: Bovi, Bovi, ghost, ghost, Bovi, ghost.... then he would place 1st right? and that "3rd" place ghost would be 2nd?

I have a similar system I was using for making careers but I just had certain numbers for different things and determined it all with the RNG number generator. I like a lot of what you have going here though! Might mesh it will what I already got as soon as I can find the blasted thing. Lol
