Okay, so! Tomorrow is Sunny 's birthday, and I love both her and her creator, Lady-Sunny16 , so I had to draw her a birthday gift...And I'm excited so I'm posting it early. My brain isn’t working quite properly so I couldn’t manage to turn the concept into fully polished writing, but my idea behind this image is that Midnight Scars has a big concert (maybe preparing for a tour or something?) that EoI is doing an opening set for, and Kato and Sunny agree that at the end of the opening set / the first song before MS comes on stage can be when he publically sings his single, "Ashborn", for the first time.
Sunny’s sister, Amber, is a fashion designer and technically gifted, so I was imagining she designed the costume here, with the wings coated in fire retardant so that they’d burn slowly and without a lot of flame...it’s a risk—of course—but still, Sunny goes by “The Blue Flame” and she ought to wear her truth. And I’m thinking, like...Kato finishes the last line in this song he wrote specifically for her, the lights go down, he ducks off-stage...and then that cyan spotlight goes on and Sundauh steps out, in her phoenix gear, her wings alight; and the crowd takes a second to go wild because at first they’re all just speechless. Because she’s otherworldly and she’s ablaze and she’s beautiful and no, Kato is right, she isn’t Nero. She is Rome herself: Breathtaking, awe-inspiring, all-enduring. She can’t be destroyed when burned because she has already branded herself into history and imagination. She is the entirety of an empire and all its power.
