LadySunny16 and i depressed ourselves real bad by chatting about character deaths today so we put our shattered hearts back together by relentlessly shipping together Anarchy & Chey's adopted kid, Jaime, and Reeko's son, Miguel ("Gil")fanfic-ass prom night picture dialogue with she/her pronouns bc it was a she/her day (as are...a lot of days for Jaime it seems):
"I don't look dumb, do I? I--"
"What? no, you look beautiful! I--I mean, good. You look good, dude, don't worry about it."
Jaime paused for a moment, looked at her friend who stood, blushing slightly, in the doorway to her bedroom. She offered him a soft smile. "...Thanks, Miguel. You look nice too."

HONESTLY LIKE!! YES EXACTLY @ IT BEING A SOURCE OF HOPE??? like??? of COURSE it's still gonna be a bit rough for them, their parents & parents friends have issues, Gil has to wrestle with his internal relationship with his mom, Jaime had to deal with the foster system. Sexuality and gender will be a hurdle but also--they're growing up in the future, and things have been getting better in society. Their childhoods don't have to be fearful the way gay kids growing up in the past were, not so much. They'll probably have to attend more funerals than they should, have to deal with more loss than on average. But they're going to be okay. That's so weird for me to say or be affected by, but they'll be okay and live lives based on unconditional, unwavering parental love, on a solid support system. They'll have the opportunities our first gen kids didn't get and I believe in their ability to make the most of it.
