Lack of sleep, as it often does, has left me with a peculiar feeling of clarity.
A sense of having broken free from the mind's ordinary cycle.
Of having reached a profound new relationship with the world.

People are building new layers into their thought processes to protect them from all this power and freedom.
Near endless regressions of wanting to decide to want to decide to want to decide what the fuck it is they really want.

Pathological assignment of meaning. Here I am, hunting for meaning in the actions of subconsciously controlled hallucinations.
None of which matter. None of which count. None of which render the coincidences meaningless and safe.

Greg Egan's book "Quarantine" and the stock photos at stock.xchn [link] , as well as being in the proximity of slightly toxic fumes sparked my imagination. The text in it's entirety is lifted from the first few chapters of the book. Bar a few modified punctuations.

This is the first photomanip I've done in, in... Holy canopy of my uncombed hair! Years!! There's more to come. First up is part two of this series.
