Yup!! There's actually TWO of them in this room. Both in such beautiful condition, too!

There are two at my university But not with the gas-arc lights. They have a big ol' 900W bulb

Were they modernized to accommodate the bulb? Or were they made to be that way?
I would LOVE to see one of these old projectors in use.

Not really modernized. Those look like they were made for a large theater (like in the other pictures). The ones at my uni are pointed into a much smaller room, so the intensity of gas-arc lighting probably wasn't necessary. They still work, too, but will need a little TLC. 900W is very, very bright.

What is this anyway? A projector in that old theater you featured on another submission?

Yep. That's the projector from the booth above the abandoned theatre.

It sort of looked like a projector. I can't help but wonder what the title of the very first movie they showed on that projector (when it was brand new) and what the very LAST movie they showed was.

I KNOW!! It never occured to me to think about that.
I'm happy to know what the first and last song of a dead radio station was
but I'd be happier knowing these movies.
Well, the piano is there which could easily lend itself to the silent gigs.
THAT would have been AWESOME!!
My dad was born in 1925 and remembered seeing the silent movies as a kid.
Piano, red carpet... wish I'd been there.

Heeey! Cool!
That's the contraption I need for my lightning-project
I love it! I love old machinery - and this one is full of details and different parts and textures.
The light from the window makes it seem like the mahine projects that light - the lightning
I love the ''Frame''-button and that round disc-thing with the ventilation-holes!
This is really awesome, Michelle! When I come to the US, I wanna go to this place SO BAD! Damn, it's spectacular.

Knew you'd dig this machine.
Reminded me of your 'WIRES' piece and my first blur treatment of this
was very similar at the bottom by coincidence.
I didn't notice how the small window worked for the photo-
I SHOULD have, but my mind was cut off being so preoccupied
with this being non-functional in reality.
The potential of the machine is endless from the looks of it, though.
I can see you being some kind of weird industrial scientist
and needing something that produces lightning in order to
enhance "good music".
Sound meets (barely tamed) electric light and *ZZzzZzzzrrrZZzrrrttt!!*

I'm studying to be all hooray-power-producing-windmills now, so I guess I'm gonna need this to create different weather-pressures so it'll be windy ALL the time in that particular area.
Damn
I swear, I'm worried about myself getting geeky in the wrong direction hehehe
I hope I'll have room for both mathematics and creativity in my brain!
So, I'm gonna go for YOUR explenation, I need this machine to enchanse good music! That's what you need; Good music, love, and KNOWING, not fearing, that one day, you're gonna die
T.Durden
But it's true!
I look at this piece, and somehow my mind wanders towards apocalypse. Imagine how cool those last hours would be like! 'FEAR' is a concept, then without meaning. There is nothing to fear, because ultimately, fear is based upon beliefes that something threatens you, your survival, directly or indirectly. I mean, you can project fear to loved ones etc. So, apocalypse turns that feature off!
*ramble*

When you finally make that locational windiness a reality,
think of me and choreograph random thunder and lightning displays
that occure on days when the night is long and time is dragging.
Damn!
Time, weather, electricity and good music.
How about you die and come back as this sainted specialized deity?
I would certainly be on the street corners with a sign
and incoherent rantings about your inevidable impact on the earth.
"The KOLS is near!"
Hahahhha! :evilaugh:
Yeah, I see your concern about letting your right brain and left brain
cancel each other out.
It won't happen.
We are talking about YOU, after all.
This miraculous balance will exist
and grow into collosal discoveries!!
"this is your life and it's ending one minute at a time"
Best hurry, man.
Have I ever told you about my apocalypse dreams?
One day, my friend.
It makes me who I am today.
"Only after disaster can we be resurrected."
RAMBLE ON!!
