Description
For 221B Con this year, a group of us decided to create Femme Victorian versions of the BBC Sherlock characters. Why? Because we felt the canon characters already had such a "set" look it would be hard to play with it. We had a blast reinterpreting our modern characters.I choose John Watson and the infamous Christmas jumper. Armed with heavy cane and a chatelaine full of useful tools, Watson is always ready to assist her Sherlock.
Sherlock: CousinCecily - cousincecily.tumblr.com. She was a beginning sewer but she built everything from the underwear out. Beautiful black and purple bustle skirt, and her version of Sherlock's coat is gorgeous! She even has bee pins in her hair and a perfect magnifying glass necklace. Both Sherlock and I built our dresses based on styles prevalent in 1883, early in their association - think "Speckled Band."
Mycroft: FrauleinNinja - frauleinninja.tumblr.com. Mycroft opted to go with the Natural Form style from the 1881 era, a little more old-fashioned, and designed the gown off Mycroft's Christmas suit from "His Last Vow." She looked stunning with her train, pocket watch and old book.
I managed to get some wig practice in and styled all the wigs. Eventually I might figure out what I'm doing. Ha!

Oh my goodness, this is breathtaking. I must say though, my favorite is Mycroft's outfit. There's just something that really appeals to me in that one....not that the others aren't gorgeous.
Thank you so much for sharing this with us on DA.

I totally understand. She did a beautiful job with her ensemble and we were envious of her access to the fabric district of NYC! We all used Truly Victorian patterns for our builds, so if you felt inspired, I'd be happy to tell you which patterns were used for which outfit.

*twiddles thumbs* Well, I'm not a seamstress myself, I know a woman who is so....patterns? Pretty please, with many cherries on top.

Here you go.
All are from Truly Victorian and available from the website www.trulyvictorian.com
Mycroft: TV225 1878 Fantail Skirt, TV420 1879 Cuirass Bodice (Natural Form Patterns)
Sherlock: TV261 1885 Four Gore Underskirt, TV365 1883 August Overskirt, TV464 1883 Riding Habit Bodice (Late Bustle)
Watson: TV261 1885 Four Gore Underskirt, TV367 1887 Cascade Overskirt, TV462 1883 Tail Bodice (Late Bustle)
For underwear we are all wearing the TV 110 Corset (best corset pattern I've ever used), over the TV Combinations or chemise and drawers. Sherlock and I have bustles and petticoats, while Mycroft is petticoat only.

Love it. In a train-less version, I could wear Mycroft's outfit as an everyday thing.
