I took my kids to MegaCon on Sunday, giving my daughter a chance to wear her Pinkie Pie gala gown again. She loved meeting so many pony friends and was even recognized by a few DA fans! She didn't love wearing the first wig, or the second wig I bought her, or the ears I bought at Yaya Han's cosplay stand (they lasted about 20 minutes). Oh well. I think next time I'll put her hair up in ponytales and make some curly ribbon falls or something.Now, let's see if I can get this tag thing set correctly.

What lovely cosplays! ah, Megacon - how I wish I lived in southern CA just so I could attend! (and Comic Con, for that matter). Look at all the fans she has!

MegaCon is actually in Orlando, but I'm guessing that is still out of your area. One of these days I might make it to DragonCon, but at this point I have to stay close to home. So Mega, and maybe MetroCon over in Tampa are the only ones I can get to.

Orlando? I thought there was one in CA cos I could have sworn a girl I know from southern CA went there....And I have a friend who lives in Orlando so she could go there, but yeah, it's WAY beyond my area, too. I'd love to go to DragonCon!
The only cons I know of in my area are SakuraCon and KumoriCon, both anime conventions. There is a MLP con over here too called "Everfree" something.

The reason I mentioned MetroCon is because they are having a Grand Galloping Gala event Saturday night. Some of the ladies at Mega mentioned it in front of my kids and now they both want to go! LOL.

Not a fan of Metro - but we have a local one up here in July that's a bit small but good clean fun. I usually opt for that one instead.

I've never been to Metro, so I'm hoping it will be fun and not too crazy for the kids. The panels look interesting and there are a couple on costuming which I will try to attend. Which one are you looking at for July?

Metro's just gone downhill over the past couple years and eventually, I just gave up and stopped going. Hope you have fun though!

aww, well this is nice! It's good to know that there are other pony cosplayers out there! I haven't been to many cons in my life just yet, however, with the fandom growing, I'm sure I'll see more. On the note of your daughter's gala outfit, superb

That is true. I've been to a local con of mine called JAFAX...I went with a few friends and for being my first con, holy smokes were there a lot of people. But yeah, I concur.
