that sentence really got me in the end of DoS! if Bilbo will say this to Thorin directly *I* will kill him myself!!! 'they' didn't do anything! the dragon was already awake and in alliance with Sauron 'the darkness is coming'? for the whole situation really fits what Kosh once said 'The avalanche has already started.
