Description
I had wanted an image of Davros, shot from behind, addressing an army of Daleks. Unfortunatly both Poser and Vue chocked. But I was really pleased with my Davros morph, and I didnt just want to do a portrait. So it took me a few weeks and I came up with this.
I recoloured the Daleks in the Imperial livery. It made them stand out a little more (and I've always had a soft spot for that colour scheme).

This is really amazing. Hoping to see some shots with Davros?
Also, nice choice on Imperial. It looks pretty, it stands out more, and it fits with continuity

It was very hard to try and show Davros without it looking too cliche. I need to find a scene to fit him into.

Good job.
Ah, Davros and Daleks. Sweet.
Heh. Like I need more to get Doctor Who on my mind. I've been watching every episode of the new season 3 times at least....

I'm liking it so far - only complaint is I don't think he's that different to the 10th Doctor (so far). Still dont like the new Bumper Car Daleks though.

I think the 11th Doctor is going to take some time to get differentiated from the 10th. I'm seeing a couple things so far. He's more of a teacher, trying to get Amy to think for herself, and figure things out (which came in handy in Episode 2). He's less afraid to express his anger, which is probably a good thing, letting it out rather than to hold it in as a cold rage.
I'll put up with the Go-Go-Power-Rangers Dalek color scheme if it means the Daleks can be an ongoing background threat (once a season, please) without having to go through a constant cycle of "wiped them all out!" and "one survivor, and they rebuilt into a threat!" only to wipe them all out again, rinse, repeat.

I did read somewhere the only reason they show up every season as it was part of the negotiations for being allowed to use them. Thats why they appear as a memory in 'Waters of Mars' when theres no real reason for them.
I agree the cycle as you call it is getting a little wearing (and I still don't see how Daleks grown directly from Davros could be 'impure'). It just felt like a cynical merchandising opportunity. After all, if you have one Dalek toy, your not gonna buy any more are you? Wait - lets paint them all different colours - Ker-ching!
Where the 10th got a little tedious I suppose was the production team's obsession with 'the lonely angel' - everything was a tragedy for him. I think what you said before about hopefully leaving behind his guilt will certainly be the case.

>>(and I still don't see how Daleks grown directly from Davros could be 'impure').
well, I can see 2 things:
1) as seen in the first episodes with Davros, you have to mutate Khaled DNA a lot to make Dalek DNA. Davros wouldn't have had other Khaleds besides himself to work with, so he might not have been able to recreate the full Dalek genome. In a 5th Doctor episode, Davros is very surprised when a bioweapon meant to kill Daleks also gets him, so Davros expected a certain amount of genetic difference between himself and Daleks throughout most of their history (due to their base stock being Khaleds other than himself?)
2) It's been suggested by some that Time War era Daleks had to undergo additional genetic modification to fight the Time Lords. Something like their own version of the "Rassilon Imprinteur" (as mentioned in "The Two Doctors") that lets more advanced time travel be used.
Some evidence of this. In "Waters of Mars", the Dalek doesn't kill the young girl because it senses she's a fixed point in time. That kind of temporal sense is a very Time Lord-like thing. and in "Dalek", the ability to heal after taking the residual time-travel energy from Rose?
My theory is the Time War changed the Daleks enough where the pre-war device no longer recognizes them.

Davros: Alright my creations here's the plan... there is no plan.
Dalek 1: Then why are we here looking at this holo image?
Davros: Quiet, Billie Piper is gonna be on again after this boring science stuff!
Dalek 1: and 2: Oh no, not again!
Dalek 3 and 4: I KNEW IT!
Dalek 5: Excuse me while I blow myself up in the corner.
Good news about a pic like this is that it allows you to use your imagination

I sometimes wonder if I'm a little hard on Rose. Then I remember the series is called 'Doctor Who', not 'Rose Tyler' and I feel a little less bad.

Nice choice of colorings for the daleks; maybe next time "the cult of Skarro"...?
