The locust is the name of the aliens in Gears of war. this is just one of them.

I bet there will be a big twist in the next one where it turns out both the Locust and Humans are alien to this world. The true species of the planet are...chainsaws. They will turn on their harsh fleshy masters with a grizzly fury and take back their soild planet.
