Thanks very much! Amazing what you can do when you're bored

I've always believed in boredom but when I was a kid I called it fishing!

At least you get it. My kids look at me with that "huh" look when I ban electronics and tell them that it's good to be bored!

Reminds me of a Jack Handy quote - "When I was a kid, we had to entertain ourselves! And usually that involved turning on the TV"

My kids aren't even happy with that because we don't have cable or satellite. They like to spend their time connected to the internet, video games or MP3 players. Every once in a while I make them shut it all off and I don't let them bring any of it along when we go somewhere. That's when I see the ugly side of them and get told I'm mean! I just stick my tongue out at them and laugh while I start reciting stories of my childhood. They can't imagine not even having a tv until sometime in your teens or doing barn chores before 6:30 am!

I've got mixed feelings about it but I think it would be great for the kids.

This is absolutely gorgeous Tim. I admire the variance of translucency between the ice and the reflections. It's a gorgeous winter scene.

Thanks Matt! It's just a shame the scene only lasted two days. We've had rain enough now to wash all the ice downstream and chances are there will not be sustained cold enough to freeze the water all the way across again this season. I wish I would have taken more pics.

On the bright side, mate, at least you got some. I was hoping the snow would last long enough for me to get up to Kit Hill and take some winter shots there. A friend of mine said the roads to Dartmoor were manic due to people getting stuck on the moor so I steered clear of it altogether.

This photo though, is one to be proud of
