Description
If you could see the other side of this fawn, it had a huge chuck bitten out of it, probably by a dog. It wandered in our yard and we nursed it back to health.Related content

Such a sweet photo, and a really inspiring story! I love how the reds turned out so rich, and the highlights on the water are so blue... is it because you used film?
Also, may I request permission to reference this photo for part of a painting? I would credit and link you of course.

Lovely! We've got the moms and babies wandering around here, but no running streams... kind of you to nurse it back to health, but hopefully it still retained its fear of people...

The other side of the poor thing looked terrible! A dog, I am guessing bit a chunk out of it's side. And after all that, it still tried to nurse off my old english sheepdog lol. We called the conservation officer and in two days he came and got it and was going to find it a home.

We've recently moved to where the deer are numerous - at least we see them on our property My daughter and I looked into working with the local animal rehabilitation group specializing in the deer...we decided not too 'cuz you can't get close to them - the need to keep 'em fearful! We really wanted to work with the foxes (we had a den under our garden shed when we first moved here three monthes ago) but you have to get pre-exposure rabies shots so we're going to work with squirels instead
They're cute and you don't need shots!!!

wildlife photos such as this are usually hard to take, but you managed to get the fawn on camera while at the same time taking a beautiful picture!

Thank you! That was taken back when film and developing was expensive and I think I only took about 3 pics.
