Description
I've been fortunate enough to have many things go well for me during my career as a comic book artist, but I've had my fair share of disappointments, too.Back in 2003, I teamed up with J. Torres, my old Copybook Tales partner and the then-future scribe of Teen Titans Go!, The Batman Strikes, Ninja Scroll, and Legion of Super-Heroes in the 31st Century (to name a few) to create a pitch about a futuristic police force known as Caution X.
Once again, there was some interest from various editors, but in the end the concept was shelved.
Luckily, J. and I teamed up a few years later on The Family Dynamic, a concept that I wouldn't necessarily classify as a "strike" -- after all, we got past the pitch stage -- but it wasn't the home run we hoped it would be. A balk, maybe...?

Nice sketch. I like the character designs. t has that whole Saturday morning feel that I personally love so much. I bought Family Dynamic. I liked it... it was fun. I hope it finds another outlet in the near future.

Thanks for the kind words, and for supporting FD. We'll keep our fingers crossed that we'll be able able to revive the book someday -- and resolve all those plotlines that were left dangling!

wow, it's cool that you guys have worked together for so long=] I still think family dynamic can sell, it just needs to be self published or under Image or some place other than DC......

J. and I actually started out in comics together back in 1996 with a black and white, small press series called The Copybook Tales.
It was about 80s kid reluctantly becoming an adult in the 90s, with the adult version of the main character trying to forge a career as a comic book writer. The series was semi-autobiographical, and rather prophetic, too
