Basil and Olivia form the Great Mouse Detective.Olivia and Basil are both a little older in this picture... Olivia now being a young adult. nad their relationship has become much more deeper...
Here, they are both releasing a little swallow they had rescued they had found with a broken wing. Basil, being the technical and inventive individual he was, splinted its wing and monitored its health... they both took care of it until its wing was healed and it was ready to fly again. Now on a cold London rainy day, its time to release it.
Jsut as a note... I liek how their umbrella is small. A detective's life is very unpredictable, and money is quite sparse at the moment. So they cannot afford a bigger umbrella. But that doe snot matter. basil hold it over her, caring not about getting wet in the cold rain. As long as he is holding her close to him, he will stay warm. and not get sick in the cold. Its all he needs....

Oh yeah! Sorry, I hadn't noticed. Yeah, it's true that you cannot post a picture if you're not a member... but I, for example, can ask you to add one of your pictures to a gallery. Then, when you accept it, it is added to the gallery even if you're not a member. Or so I think.

Yeah, a relationship between Basil and Olivia may be complex and difficult at the same time. Maybe even "forbiden" for some reasons, but I like it too the way it is.

that is waht makes it interesting... though she has grown up... he is much older than her and their relationship was once very guardian-like... I'd imagine that Basil loved her, but never really thought of it on a physical level... jsut a caring parental one. But Olivia always admired him and how he saved her and cheers her up as a kid... then she grew up, and she found that love never stopped and only jsut increased, even as she became a mature girl. Basil himself was always sympatheric to her cherishing him... but as she became a young woman, this closeness became very complex and awkward for him. He was afteral a male mouse and she was nto a mature female. I'd imagine Basil would have been too noble to ever admit to himself that he was taking notice in her physically... but Olivia kept trying to get close to him and he would have realized she desired him in that way too. Olivia I imagine made the first move, and though it was very worrisome to him, Basil could not deny any longer he wanted her too....
So that's kind of how I see their relationship. I may be gay, but in the toon world, I can find heterosexual parings to be just as interesting too... its all about passion.
