I've got a gun!And I've got papa!
Shot outside St Stephen's Gate, Jerusalem
edit: after what's going on in Gaza these days, i find this picture ever so relevant to the scene that's going on. How can we stand and not realise the scary bare fact that these children pick up toy guns from as little as this kid, all the way up until they enlist.
Yet the flip side is the serenity of this picture, how the kid and his father finds simple comfort, never knowing just months down the road, how this war would forever change not just their lives, but the lives of those around them in their country.

a pretty fun controversial subject, It's nice to look at, touching. as a piece of art, It lacks some intense in terms of composition and aesthetics.

i thought, when i was looking at the shot that it was a little disturbing that the kid was carrying a toy gun. When i first looked at it is though "aww how cute" until i moved my eyes down and saw the gun D:

i didn't like the other piece too, that's why i really thought it was an unlikely one as well.
i would have preferred my 'beauty defined -final' piece over that one any day

The first thing I thought there was how the kid looked so serious while holding his gun. It's like he was already trained for it.
And yet the father seems at peace and so happy.
Lots of political views in here alright, and yet it holds that happy father/son relationship feel because of the pose and the father's honest smile.

It is a very interesting shot, still quite disturbing since it was taken in jerusalem and considering what are the problems of children involved in the Intifada. But the fact that the child is with his father and seems so happy brings some hope in it. Definitely a lovely shot.

And that image in the context of Israel .. I tend to see political stuff in it. Its a cool shot , indicating something not so cool yet (here everything we get to know about Isreal is that there seems to be war all the time)

very true. every young kid seems to want to hold a gun of any sort. be it real or fake. it's like they were born for war. precaution? or mere violence of an upbringing?
