Description
Here's a quick painting I whipped up this afternoon using photo reference from tornglass ('Green Window") for inspiration. Took a few hours. Guoache on cardboard with Photoshop effects. An interesting experiment for me using old and new techniques. I hope you enjoy this somewhat cartoony take on a very nice photograph! Any comments you might have are always welcome. Thanks for taking a look!Be sure to check out tornglass's gallery. Lots of nice photos!

This is great. I don't think it looks cartoony that much.

Wow. I really like this image. It's definitely more than raw sexuality or seduction. On the one hand, there's an element of departure from reality - a fantasy - primarily communicated with the blur from the fireplace. But there's something in the posture, the quietness of the face - I can't exactly place it - that speaks not of licentiousness or seduction, but of a softer kind of connection. There's an intimacy and an ever so slight coyness in this that really tells a great story. The subtlety of this image in a world that all too often would club us over the head with something overtly sexual is refreshing.

for some odd reason the curtains really do it for me - can almost feel the breeze that's blowing them open. i love the cartoonish feel to it - sexy as well...

Beautiful. I love the colors, they add a lot of intensity and sexiness. It also seems like there is a bit more oomph and tension in the pose and anatomy. Awesome job.

Wow, This is stunning. Amazing really...Such softness and lovely movment. The way you have made the curtains to float in the breeze...really reminds me of being back home. I am perplexed how you achieved such warmth and shadow at the same time. I love it. Thank you for using Mike's photo and my image for inspiration. I am honored the outcome.

That's really good. I like the sort of silhouette-y feel of it, and the contrast between light and shadow and stuff. The colours are really nice, too. Keep up the good work!

nice combination of traditional, and digital.
good composition here. um... contrast is nice. i like the overexposure in the window and the underexposure in the shadow areas.
the blurring around the front of the face i find a little distracting though. good piece.
