Watching this image again made the sound of hitting a block in Super Mario World play in my head xD

This makes me think of the Wing Cap on Super Mario 64. Well the Wing Cap will last briefly and she needs to make sure that she is not to high up or over a bottomless pit or a pool of lava.

Oh god, that episode... what the hell happened to all the good writing?
It's like the previous season Doctor Who: ruined the Weeping Angels, ruined the Daleks, had all sorts of plot holes and just plain stupid stories.
It's like suddenly many of the TV show writers around the world suffered a complete loss of talent (Starswirl's Cutie Mark Switching Spell?)

It was extremely rushed. It took two concepts that should have been their own episodes and put them together. The whole point of a body switch episode (meh close enough) is to get a feel for what it's like to live in the other person's shoes. They literally solved the problem in a song, no build up, no climax, no big revelation that namby pamby dress making/ animal care is actually hard work, and therefore deserves more respect.
And then the whole Alicorn episode should have been two episodes. They should have told her, and then she needed to really have a soul search about if it was what she really wanted, and she'd have a whole walk through Ponyville and have flashbacks to previous episodes. And her friends would be unsure at first, but in the end accept whatever decision she chose. And then she could go to the Sacred Realm and get alicorned.

There were just so many ways to have done it better. Honestly, what they did was the one way I said weeks ago that would be the worst method. They actually went with the most contrived, insensible method I could think of.

Well, they did mention that they were going to address some of the things in season 4. But really, they had half a season that they could have added here to make this work better
