Honestly dude, if all you see is Celestia-hate, then you and I see very different sides of the fandom. I see tonnes of Celestia fan stuff, and yeh sure, some of that is poking fun, but honestly, every damn character on the show gets made fun of by the fandom. It's what fandoms do. We poke fun at things we like. But to say that "nobody likes Celestia" I feel is pretty fuckin' unfair. Seriously, you're telling me you can't find a Celestia fan group here on DA? Here's one. Oh look, here's another . What's this? Another one!

Doesn't mean we hate it, just means we can find the ironic/funny side of things, and that we can play with the stereotypes around that thing.

And dude, if it's about your art/music/writing skill, know this: Nobody is a "born artist", or "naturally talented". It's all a case of when they pick up the tools and start doing stuff. You keep making stuff, you're gonna get better at making that stuff. It's how it works. Keep practicing, keep putting stuff out there, and keep trying new things and improving and you'll get there.

While I agree that ARchy4288 is totaly over-reacting and should really chill out, I can see where his frustration is comming from (not that I like it to go that far as he showed in the comments).

Celestia and Luna are both very powerful characters, but writters see them just a roadblock for Twilight's adventures and grow, so they put huge portion of time to get rid of them during all two parters. At first it wasn't so hard, but the more you see it repeated over and over, the more it gets annoying to those who would like to see royal sisters to DO someting for a change. Cast a spell or something to assist main 6 in fight against super villain rather then being captured or beaten by mere seconds, creating poor plans that will backfire or tell Twilight that she MUST save the world without help of her friends.
It start at least Celestia provided Twilight with means to fight against main villains (like letters when Discord corupted Twilight), but later she not only not help, but make thinks even harder.

The real issue is that, while in the show, all fans would like to see Celestia and Luna DO SOMETHING, and many who make "lets watch" call her for being useles. It only gets worse that while majority of fans would like to see Celestia or Luna team up against main 6 or move their flanks form the throne and DO SOMETHING for a change, majority of comics, stories and arts just repeat the joke of Celestia and Luna being useless, doing nothing and making Twilight and her friends do all the joke. In a lot of stories, Celesita and Luna lost to villain to increase dramma, stay away form the action for various reasons, must be saved by main 6, or the worst of all, they just stand next to main 6 and do nothing while the 6 ponies are being beaten up left and right, not bothering to lift a hoof or failing at it.

While many find it funny to make a joke how the show itself is making royal sisters useless and have main 6 fix all the problems, but considering how repetitive it has become, it gets annoying for people like me who really dislike the forced removal of royal sisters for the sake of the conflict.

Stories where royal sisters are presented as competent and where they assist main 6 in dealing with villain or save the day for a change are extremely rare compared to how many times they screw up, and this is something what annoy me and ruin many fun stories and comics for me.

While I still find ARchy4288 overreaction very mean spirited, I can understand where his frustration is comming from. Because for 5% of comics, stories and arts where royal sisters are showed as competend, powerful and atually contribute something to solve the problem, in 95% they are just joke or device to increase dramma.

I got a program, Vectorian, that makes Flash files. It's like Flash, it has all the features, but it's free. I want to get into this kind of animation, it seems so fascinating. Any tips?

Fast motion is all about the start and the end rather than the in-between. Look up "animation smears", and see what I mean. If the beginning and the end of an action are top notch, an audience will usually not even see a little messiness in the one or two frames between them.

Easing is your friend. Especially with motion that you get the computer to do for you - "tweening". Easing stops the animation looking dead and robotic, so use it well and use it often.

You will always have to choose between complex character design or quick animation. It's one or the other.

Try to avoid stage syndrome - where everyone is always viewed in full body from the side/3 quarter view and few shot changes are made.

Audiences will forgive bad animation so long as it's entertaining.
