Description Estonia and Finland were both part of the Swedish Empire in the 17th century. Living with the belligerent great power can't have always been rosy.

Strictly speaking, what I had in mind while drawing this was the wartime between Sweden and Russia in 1570-1595. About the Baltics and stuff. But. Uh. The omnicient Wikipedia in three different languages just made a total mess about it in my head. I really don't know if I have any idea of what was actually going on in those times. But it sure wasn't fun.

Oh yes totally a way of making a comic. Just copy and paste the same picture a millon times! I'm such an artist. This wasn't supposed to be a comic at all, really, I just had an idea of Finland and Estonia having a rest together but then I started to feel it kinda needed an explanation and... oh look I'm making excuses as well.
I'm not a comic drawer okay.

Eduard von Bock (Estonia) and Tino Väinämöinen (Finland) from Axis Powers Hetalia belong to Hidekaz Himaruya.

Now I'm beginning to feel sorry for these two... O:
I like the idea of it, how you pointed out that it must really have been a rough time for these countries. Nice comic!

I'm hopelessly fond of all the countless angsty, depressing, destructive points of view history so eagerly serves me with. This is a scene I've played a lot with in my head, so I'm glad you like it! Thank you for commenting!

And it's not like the weren't enough such things in history, since it has always been a bit dark in times, or depresing. (And, combined with Hetalia, you can then draw many emotions )
You're welcome!

True, and we need to remember the good times as well. A variety of viewpoints, stories, and yes, emotions. All kinds of things deserve attention!

Yes! That's what I don't like that much in history class, that you often only talk about your own land, though there happened so much all around the world that is not less interesting.

True! And I find it difficult to connect things togehter on a bigger scale when you're mostly concentrating on what has happened close to you and your surroundings. Gah, so much to be learned and so little that I get to know!

Yeah, so little we all know...I hope that's gonna be changed in the future in history class.

Awwwww, mä sanon, vaikkei se ehkä ihan sovi tähän kaikkeen tän kuvan taustalla, mutta kuvaan kenties kuitenkin. He ovat kovin suloisia hakiessaan toisistaan turvaa.

Kiitos awwituksesta
