It's been a while since she felt the freedom of not dealing with any human. The life she once lead with her foal, Calcar, out in the open before she had been caught. It's a missed freedom that has it's drawbacks. The bar of steel that rested on my tongue gave little comfort as I entered this dark oddity. Enclosed in a dark, stale cave with god awful bright dots. My hoomin, as I so dubbed my servant, urged me forward into a narrow passageway.

I gave her a disheartening glare into the back of her head, she finally stopped me at a gate. I watched as the stallion before me jumped over a contraption, I paw'd and shook my head. Easy. I've cleared twice that. I lifted my head and nickered in anticipation. Hoomin, let me go forth and frolic now, I snapped at her extremities as she removed my reins. There was a sharp sting on my muzzle where she retaliated. Feisty hoomin, She's fun.

I kicked out at her as she let me go, I was a runner, not some slow paced fancy stepper. Nearing the first jump, I coiled my hindquarters under me and left the turf a good stride and a half before. It was the closest thing I could get to my freedom. My true happiness. Hoomins call it steeplechase, I call it hunting. Full out running after your dinner, up and over whatever obstacle they tried to deter you with. It's the little things in life.
