Description
This is a screenshot from the 32nd level in my Wolfenstein Mod: Guns and Glory 0.5: The Story Retold.Unlike the other preview images, this one is for the most part blatant and unobscured (save of course for the fence).
It displays none other than Scott Pilgrim's very own Kim Pine as she appears in game next to a billboard of Scott himself (advertising the Movie, HINT HINT *Watch it!*)
The Billboard serves two purposes:
1. Eyecandy
2. Nearby (actually Kim is currently standing on it in the screenshot) there is a point that if Kim stands upon it, she will remain "Immobile" and not attack the player at all forever, leaving her completely to the player's mercy.
Kim herself is the third of three bosses fought on the level. The other two serve as sort of small nods to a particular story and series while Kim merely gives the level a "Triad" feel, so to speak. As she's the last boss on the level, there isn't much left standing in the player's way as far as reaching the exit.
Of the three bosses, I'd have to say that she's my favorite (unfortunately she's not my favorite "character" but she's #3 on my list anyway). Her overall AI and attack methods are my favorite and I really enjoyed making all of the animation frames for her and programming her movement and attack AI.
She's also the only enemy in the game that can "activate" the special spot she's standing on. The spot actually contains a small pickup item that only she can pick up (the player just gets a message if they walk over it).
In the code of the game, I named the pickup item "bo_problem" as all bonus items are denoted with a "bo_" suffix to point them out as bonus items.
Yeah, "bo_problem" is right.
Scott Pilgrim, Kim Pine and all related characters belong to Bryan Lee O'Malley, and I do not own the rights to these characters or any related characters.
-I did hand craft the sprites though (some of which are based on the sprites designed by Paul Robertson)
