I understand the need to put many details in the story but, you really should work on the readability there
Try to get Scott McCloud's Understanding Comics and Making Comics, they are... comics, explaining comics (how to read them and how to make them). Simple, easy to read and pretty well written

Besides, you have no excuse you're using a computer to make those, you can very well bake the surroundings, blur the baked picture a little (to simulate DoF) and wrap it around on a cylinder or sphere, in order to make close portraits of the characters interacting with each other, then regroup everything so it fits in a HD picture (and in a readable order too )

>w>;

I'l a lazy guy..

As I just said, I have the best excuse: I'm lazy and what you say needs double work.
Also, at that time, I just wanted to reach the GTS part as fast as possible.

hahaha

Well, dialogues are read from left to right and top to bottom, as usual. You did that right on page 22 .
You can help by placing your characters respectively to each other in the right order. Maybe use the same picture again, and put the dialogue on those 2 identical pictures instead of one?

You can start by quick-drafting the scenes by hand with stickmen and write the contents, describe quickly the content of the page and the dialogues. It helps choosing the POV and scenery very fast, and more importantly, you can draft at least 20 pages a day with that. The best part of this is you will have consistency in the whole scene, because you did it all in the same day It helps finding little missing parts or redundant parts, correct stuff and things...

I fully understand what it is to reach for the GTS part as fast as possible well, when the story is entirely written and drafted (with the mighty stickmen), you can start by a GTS part even if it's not the beginning of the story, then make a few pictures of the non-GTS parts, then get back at it... That's what I do.

Too much work my friend.. I think that what I do already takes a lot of time.
..not to mention that usually I create the story without know what view I will make.. They come out by themselves while I work on it.

You know.. you have the typical approach of the "engineer".. and for sure it's better than  mine.
But my approach is driven by my feelings combined with the need to "save time", because It's already hard enough to make all the work.
So if I can compact a few panels in a single panel by just adding a number on top of the baloons..  man, you can bet it that I will do that!

hahaha okay I give up

Those things indeed take a shitload of time. And we don't get paid for it, which means it's on our free time, instead of a compulsory 40 (or more) hours/week of paid work.

Indeed I have an engineer-like approach, and it has many advantages... I guess we all have our method

Finally you got it!

Exactly, it's something fun, not a job.. and I don't want to tun it into a job because I think it would ruin the fun.
So,  I take it easy and go where my feeling leads me without have to be consistent with official comics style.
I guess you already noticed that the quality of my works is not constant, well that's why it happens.

I know the value of your approach and I use it too when it comes to work and important stuff, but man.. we can't use it for everything, especially for things that have to do with our deepest passions.

Yeah I'm thinking the same thing. I used to wonder whether or not I'd make a CG career, but I've been fortunate enough to know many pro CG artists and I've understood it's a difficult job, it's hard to meet both ends because you need to chase after the contracts all the time... I did not want it to ruin my love for art so I went for engineering and don't regret it the slightest bit.

I'll leave you with a little saying we engineers have: the time you loose now with planning & anticipating everything, is time you'll save later when you'll make those things happen. Or something like that.
The later you wait, the higher the cost of patching errors Like, there's a critical default on a car that can make it catch fire spontaneously, you can't begin to imagine the cost of calling back all the cars you've sold, so you can repair them it would have taken maybe a week worth of work to just anticipate the problem and correct the blueprints... The cost is exponential with the time...

Exactly.
This is also one of the reasons for I do all of this for free. It's just a way to have fun, there's no need to put moneys in that, because once you set a price, you lost part of your freedom.

That's a good approach to life that I always keep in mind and that helped me a lot. It can be easily applied to almost everything we do.. except feelings.

>except feelings

well... I'm afraid you're right... this is why I don't understand what I feel. Except with music. The only language I understand for expressing and transmitting feelings. But any other way, I just don't. I can't and it infuriates me :\

I understand.. all I can say is that there are no tactics with feelings my friend.. letting them flow through you is the only thing to do that makes sense. XP
