I do things like that in RP and I had to read stuff up, like, I learnt about "Big Five Personality Traits". Though in reality it's better to define the characters intuitively, based on your experience and not on the wiki articles. Still was fun to learn about it.

For the personalities of the characters Kendal did a big part, and each one of them has a different purpose in the whole story.
