Description
Most like a monumental statue setIn everlasting watch and moveless woe
Till itself crumble to the dust beneath.
Touch it; the marble eyelids are not wet:
If it could weep it could arise and go.
Elizabeth Barrett Browning
Rock Creek Cemetery. Washington D.C.

Thanks. I took this ages ago and thought I'd lost the file, so on a snowy day I played with some images from warmer times.

Love this composition, love the way the face almost seems to glow.

Thank you. Her hood protected her face from discoloration, but it is still deteriorating.
