It was a beautiful day, Ulinzi walked as her cubs followed her, Umoja and Azizi, her first and last litter, the lioness loved them very deeply, that didn't mean that they were her favorites, she also loved her adopted cubs, of course she did.
-Hey momma, what are we doing here?
Azizi asked looking down, they were scalating the lookout, probably the best plce to admire the Mlima territory, it was the first time the cubs were visiting this place.
-Hehe, we will take a look at the territory, believe me, you will love the view.
Ulinzi chuckled, Azizi nodded and kept talking with his sister.
After a few minutes, they finally arrived at the top of the lookout, Ulinzi turned to her cubs, it was a beautiful sight but also pretty dangerous, specially for that pair of naughty cubs.
-Okay, here we are, take a look but don't get closer to the george.
-Yes mum!
The cubs said and carefully got in front of Ulinzi, their eyes widened and jaws dropped, they were amazed by the beautiful landscape, did they really lived there? It looked so different from such a different angle.
-WOOOOAH!
Both cubs exclaimed.
-I can see the healer's den from here!
-And i can see the home cave! I wonder if sis can hear us...SIS AKOSUAAAAAAA
Both cubs kept talking, telling and laughing, they were definitely having fun, and Ulinzi loved seeing her cubs so happy, she looked at the landscape, it really was beautiful, but for a moment, her smile disappeared, this was also the place where her mate, Kamili, had died, it was a long time ago, but it still hurt.
Without noticing it, the memories came to her mind, it started with her living as a rogue, walking through the territory looking for food and water, almost sure that she was going to die right there, until he arrived, Kamili, the lion who offered her help.
She chuckled as she remembered how she joined the pride, she was looking for Kamili until she found him with an injured cub, Arisu, the first cub she adopted, later she and Kamili would adopt Akosua, Muundo, Simi and Shani.
One of the happiest moments of her life were when her brother, Kulindwa, got to join the pride, Ulinzi had missed him so much and she was so happy to be with him again, despite it not being the best moment to join.
After all, Ufalme was in the pride too, he was one of the most evil lions Ulinzi had ever meet, at least she was relieved that he got better later, she was not going to lie, she felt bad for how he died.
Actually, that was one fo the reasons why she felt like she wasn't doing a good job as a guard, she felt like she was failing to Makosa and king Hodari, the ones who trusted her and gave her the opportunity to be a guard, like that time when the crazy male, Giza, arrived and caused terror in the pride, those were such horrible times.
But the moment she really felt useful, was when she fought in the hyena war, she felt scared but she was glad to be able to help her pride on that matter.
She sighed, heh, apparently she would have never experienced nothing of this if it wasn't for Kamili, her smile grew widder, she was grateful for that, she was grateful for living in the most wonderful pride, all because of him.
