Septembers progress of the Celtic Sew Along Challenge, most of the project is blue with a few green sections in it.....this is one of them and it confused me as hell to begin with lol.Stitched on 14 count with DMC threads

I don't know when I would be able to begin something that large, but I did just join the group to keep tabs of all the gorgeous stitching

The good thing with this project is that it's in sections, even if you only stitch a border in a month then get the actual tile part stitched the next month you're still moving forwards on it.........a bit like The Book of Kells and the Lindisfarne Gospels, the further foward you progress the better it looks π

Download the charts now as they're only free til the end of this year, after that you'll have to pay for them......this is a kind of never ending project, it only ends when you can't come up with any more colour variations lol π

This is growing up!!! ItΒ΄ll be beautiful. I want to watch it finish. By the way, I told you about the celtic quit IΒ΄m sewing. I decided yesterday to undo the black bias which gives the celtic air because I make it by hand with a quilt fabric that itΒ΄s not appropriate for bias because itΒ΄s very soft and itΒ΄s difficult to control it while sewing. Β I prefer to buy it and applicate it.

Ouch that's gonna take a while to remove that, hopefully you hadn't sewn the whole lot on for sanity's sake.

no sadly not. I also messaged their official facebook page to ask if I could buy a pattern, but nothing. I'll sent her a message again soon I think. Otherwise I might try freestyling with the pictures of her work XD But I'd rather not actually.

Spent most of yesterday trying to sort things, hence why I sent you the note when I twigged it may be affecting her messages......what fb told Marie to do that would sort the problem didn't work and they're still not sorting it

Trying to see what the Bodleian Library has, same with the National Library of Wales........also anything that isn't The Book of Kells of The Lindisfarne Gospels, those are fairly easy to locate pictures of

Links to any and all would be great lol.......gonna start TRYING to wade through the lists from both libraries, doesn't help when they don't give you much info about each item. If I put in a request for each of the "celtic manuscripts" to have a look they'd go nuts by the end of it, if not way before the end. Why is it catalogue numbers, ref numbers etc they throw at you but when you want more info on each item they don't willingly/easily give you it.......let me have the info for each item, then if I want a proper look at that item I'll give them the catalogue/reference number etc

If you look at the list of "Celtic Saints" he's not on it because his work was in Europe not this neck of the woods which is totally unfair.......all Celtic missionaries/Celtic saints should be treated the same no matter where God led them to work......time for thinking cap to be on and working

It's already getting difficult to photograph properly due to the size lol, not sure if this section is all green or a mixture of blue and green......time will tell π

Probably end up using the back.of the settee for now then when it gets to big for there I'll go use the Cathedral cloisters floor again lol......can't use the bed or floor due to the darling cat photobombing the picture with her slam bang in the middle of the fabric π
